Tile

Tile can transform any room in your home. From dynamic natural stone like granite, travertine or slate to the elegance of ceramic and porcelain, tile adds character and charm. There are many types of tile. Porcelain is a ceramic tile that is generally made by the dust pressed method from a composition which results in a tile that is dense, impervious, fine grained and smooth, with a sharply formed face. Whereas Quarry tile is a glazed or unglazed tile made by the extrusion process from natural clay or shale. This tile is most common in the dark red shades; however, shades of brown and gray are also available. Let us at Bay Carpet help you chose which tile is right for your home.

Linoleum

Linoleum is a floor covering made from solidified linseed oil (linoxyn) in combination with wood flour or cork dust over a burlap or canvas backing. Pigments may be added to the materials used. In modern lay parlance, linoleum is often incorrectly used to describe vinyl flooring. Because it is made of organic materials and is purportedly non-allergenic in nature, high quality linoleum is still in use in many places. The design and inlaying of various colors to form patterns reflecting the shape and use of a room is a highly respected craft in which Bay Carpet can supply you with.

VCT Floortile

VCT is an acronym for Vinyl Composition Tile, a product made mostly of limestone and smaller amounts of plasticizers and other bonding agents. VCT is widely used in residential settings. You will see VCT in home kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. VCT is durable and relatively inexpensive, and can last for many years depending on maintenance, nearby conditions (abrasives tracked onto the tile), and traffic load. On the downside, it requires more maintenance than ceramic or porcelain tile.

It is perfect for garages, home gyms, and playgrounds.

Cork Flooring

A member of the beech family, the cork oak tree grows in costal regions of the Mediterranean. Unlike most trees where primary value is derived from the lumber of the trunk, cork is actually obtained from the bark. Cork provides a comfortable cushion underfoot as it gives under compression. Because cork "bounces back", recovery from marks left by furniture will leave mnimal residual indentation, less notibeable than on wood, carpet or vinyl floors. Cork is a fire inhibitor that does not spread flame. Cork contgains over 100 million prism-shaped cells per cubic inch. These air-filled cells allow cork to provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. What does cork have to offer setting it apart from other surface flooring materials? Quite a bit turns out. In fact, no other floor covering can match the combined benefits of cork.

Bamboo Flooring

Bamboo flooring is priced very reasonable and has more value than much less durable & harder products, making it a life time product for home or office. Hard as Maple, and 50% more stable than Red Oak, and with today's finishes make them a very durable product for any installation need. Having a different grain than most conventional hardwoods, bamboo flooring is unique in that many design and decors can work well with this product.
